PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Logistics Clerk performs limited aspects of logistics supply management work (inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) related to depot, location other supply activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs limited aspects of logistics supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities.
  • Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
  • Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty.
  • Work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions.
  • Work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
  • Assignments require good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • The Logistics Clerk may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred
  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members
  • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
  • Ability to follow a process.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of four (4) years total logistics experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 15-25 pounds routinely and up to 45 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be licensed to operate forklifts
  • Work involves standing, bending, reaching, stretching, crouching and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Knowledge of Aviation Supply Operations
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
