  • Support training delivery and documentation for NDT personnel, helping ensure alignment with site-level Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and NAS 410 standards.
  • Assist in preparing training materials, administering examinations, and assembling certification packages for review by the Responsible Level III.
  • Act as the go-to expert for solving advanced or unusual technical problems in radiographic testing.
  • Collaborate with Level I and II inspectors by offering technical guidance and informal mentoring in partnership with the Responsible Level III and departmental leadership.
  • Help coordinate responses to customer or supplier NDT-related questions as needed, ensuring alignment with operational priorities.
  • Contribute to research and the implementation of new or improved NDT techniques that enhance inspection efficiency or production integration.
  • Support ongoing improvement projects, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that NDT methods are aligned with operational timelines and production goals.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of Nadcap and internal audits to ensure continued compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in tracking engineering or special process initiatives related to NDT, including follow-up actions, documentation, and progress monitoring.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive knowledge of NDT principles and various NDT methods, including radiographic and computed radiographic.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Must pass a visual acuity test as required by NAS 410. Must have completed 8 hours of auditor training and performed practice audits with a certified auditor/trainer.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to the Xray Department Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace NDT, including investment casting processes, with a proven track record of successfully implementing and managing NDT systems is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment casting processes, technologies, and quality assurance methods and techniques, materials, and requirements is preferred.
  • Currently certified as an NDT Level II in Radiographic Testing (both film and non-film modalities) per NAS 410. Additional certifications in at least one other NDT method (penetrant or visual inspection is recommended) preferred.
  • Certification with major customers (e.g., Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell Aerospace, GKN) required.
