We are looking for a hands-on Director of Software Architecture to lead the architectural vision, strategy, and execution for Manhattan's next-generation SCP platform, built on Java, Spring, and Microservices. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership to drive scalable, performant, and cloud-native architecture. You will partner closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and stakeholders to define the long-term technology roadmap, ensure architectural excellence, and enable rapid product innovation. Key Responsibilities: * Define and evolve the technical architecture for Manhattan's Supply Chain Planning platform using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices in a cloud-native environment. * Lead architecture governance, ensuring adherence to design standards, scalability, performance, and security across modules. * Collaborate with senior product management to align the architectural direction with product strategy and business goals. * Mentor and guide software architects, technical leads, and engineers across geographies on best practices in distributed systems design and modern software engineering. * Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-first development using Goolge Cloud Platform or similar platforms. * Influence technology direction by evaluating emerging tools, frameworks, and design patterns relevant to large-scale enterprise systems. * Lead cross-functional design reviews, PoCs, and architecture deep dives for critical technical decisions. * Act as a key technical advisor in customer discussions and escalations, supporting solution architecture and performance tuning. * Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and technical ownership. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * 13+ years of progressive software development experience, including 7+ years in enterprise architecture roles. * Deep expertise in Java, Spring (Boot, Cloud), J2EE, REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture. * Proven experience designing distributed, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications. * Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and Google cloud services. * Solid understanding of event-driven architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), and system integration patterns. * Ability to influence and collaborate with global engineering teams and C-level stakeholders. * Proven leadership in driving end-to-end architecture for high-volume, mission-critical platforms. * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. Preferred Skills: * Prior experience in Supply Chain Planning or Enterprise Software for Software/Retail/Logistics. * Working knowledge of AI/ML-driven forecasting, optimization engines, or rules-based planning systems. * Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus), API gateways, and performance monitoring strategies. * Agile, Lean, and SAFe delivery model experience.
