Job Summary

Responsible for leading and providing oversight to the lower-level Metrologists. Repairs and calibrates measuring and test equipment and Standards. Maintains accurate records of instrument calibration and work performed in accordance with regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintains and implements the measuring and test equipment program
    • Implementation of the Metrology program includes, in addition to instrument calibrations:
      • Documentation of calibration records, including vaulting
      • Documentation of failed calibrations, including vaulting and reverse traceability reports
      • Preparing items for shipping to vendors for calibration and repairs
      • Receiving items from shipping from vendors
      • Entering and inactivating items from the Fluke MET Team program.
  • Ensures that calibrating, measuring, and test equipment standards are met to the established schedules and objectives
  • Perform investigations of failed M&TE standards, create and implement action plans in the corrective action program.
  • Review historical trending for M&TE calibration failures and determine possible trends. If a negative trend is found, take corrective action(s).
  • Implements and provides feedback to ensure the metrology program is effective, efficient, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Designs and implements trending programs for equipment.
  • Strictly follows procedures, is alert to safety and attends selected metrology training.
  • Complies with ALARA principles and radiation protection policies and principles.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of metrology or measurement and calibration experience working experience in a specialty
  • Must conform with ANSI standard AAN-18,1-1971, Selection and Training of Nuclear Power Plant Personnel.
Additional Qualifications
  • Must work shifts as assigned.
  • Computer Skills: PC applications i.e. spreadsheets, word processing.
  • Must be proficient in various specific testing methodologies and techniques.
  • Knowledge in Fluke METCAL software.
  • Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical theory.
  • Knowledge of the industry standard publication IEEE498, ANSIN45.2, and 10CFR50 Appendix
  • Must be able to lift and carry precision tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
