Position Summary |
This position exists to provide technical support services necessary for the successful delivery of instruction in the electronics/electrical laboratories. Directly responsible for the organization and security of: laboratories, resale inventory, and equipment inventory. Performs or coordinates the calibration and repair of a variety of laboratory instruments and training devices. Initiates purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment as required. Provides training and assistance to students on the use of various laboratory instruments and computer software. Performs a variety of other duties that contribute to a high quality learning environment. |
Minimum Requirements |
- Associates Degree in Electronics Technology or related discipline with 30 credit hours of electronics courses.
- Five (5) years of experience working with electronic circuits and systems including industrial controls.
- Must know how to operate, calibrate, and repair electronic instruments including DC power supplies, function generators, analog and digital oscilloscopes, multimeters, and reactive device analyzers.
- Must have competence in the configuration of computer hardware and software as they apply to data acquisition and industrial control systems including networks.
- Must be able to use software such as Microsoft Word and Excel in addition to software used in the curriculum at any given time.
- Must be able to read and interpret standards, specifications, and protocols related to the electronics industry.
- Must understand properties of materials and fabrication methods for design of training devices.
