DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this internship, the student will play a vital role by providing full-time support to experienced Diesel Mechanics. The student will be tasked with engaging in specific duties assigned on a daily basis, which may vary depending on the needs of the team. It is essential for the student to demonstrate initiative and a strong willingness to learn, as well as to assist colleagues, follow instructions, and contribute effectively to the completion of assigned tasks. The student should strive to absorb and retain as much information and knowledge as possible to enhance their skills and understanding of the field. Additionally, the student will be responsible for adhering to attendance requirements, following call-off procedures, and complying with safety policies and procedures, as well as the work rules established by the department. This commitment to professionalism and diligence will be crucial for a successful internship experience. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- If you are selected for this position, you will work directly with your workplace supervisor to determine a work schedule that coordinates with your school schedule.
- Senior enrolled in High School 2025-2026 or Junior enrolled in High School 2025-2026
- The internship will run through the remainder of the 2025 school season, extending into 2026 school season.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- You must be at least 16 years of age at time of hire.
- You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Additional Requirements:
- Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating that you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity.
- Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position.
- By participating in this program, the student and school agree to the use of the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
