About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for aManager Underground Technical to Lead and manage a team of technical experts in the timely delivery of approved for construction mine designs, quarterly mining schedules and operations Services planning. This role is a great leadership role for an experienced professional who can manage a large group of professionals and/or junior managers. Develop departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. Reporting to the GM Underground you will be responsible for :
- Directing and overseeing the work of the team.
- Overseeing the various technical teams to implement and continuously improve the management systems for mining engineering, geosciences and surveying at the mine;
- Collaborating with PG technical functions and suppliers to facilitate best practice mining operations and development of technology / capability for future surface mining;
- Reviewing mine designs and short-long term forecasts and drives interval control processes to ensure that deliverables are met;
- Ensuring compliance with all site and PG technical requirements as well as management of change processes;
- Participating in technical risk assessments, and provides into procedures for technical risks;
- Monitoring technical capability within the incumbent's team to ensure that the short-long term mine plan and schedule can be safely and productively delivered;
- Reporting of mine plans to various parties;
- Delivering mine production reports against budgets.
What you'll bring To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Bachelor's degree in mining or other related field
- 10+ years of experience in Underground mining and 5+ years direct mining/maintenance operational leadership
- Demonstrated ability to implement and manage continuous improvement processes
- Commercial acumen commensurate with role requirements
- Effective and authoritative communication and coaching skills
- Effective time management and personal organizational skills
- Demonstrate an open-minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions
- Able to work alone and to take and apply feedback
- Proven stakeholder management experience
