Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Colortrol Coordinator at their Villa Rica 1 facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia.

The Colortrol Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing color quality control and standardization processes within the Converting plant. This position is responsible for maintaining color accuracy, efficiency in ink management, and coordination between press operations and ink room activities. The role requires technical expertise in color management systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to ensure optimal print quality and operational efficiency.

Pay: $22.83 - $34.26 per hour depending on experience

Schedule: 8 hour - Monday - Friday days

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and organize color control systems including Colortrols, standards, and print samples while managing the ink formula database and resolving formula issues

  • Maintain and calibrate X-Rite/Color Management equipment and databases, ensuring all systems are current and properly functioning

  • Coordinate and ensure correlation between Ink Room and Press anilox rolls, including maintenance of cleaning procedures and servicing protocols

  • Assist and Monitor implementation and monitoring of Color Standardization Projects while facilitating Press, Ink, and Graphic approvals

  • Process customer drawdown requests and maintain proper documentation while ensuring substrate availability for quality control processes

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and other improvement teams as directed

  • Work collaboratively with Graphics Department to resolve workflow inefficiencies and improve post-work processes

  • Support Press Department in reducing changeover times and optimizing operational efficiency

  • Participate in work-off reduction efforts and lean processing initiatives

  • Serve as backup for Ink Supervisor position while maintaining regular departmental responsibilities

  • Other duties as defined

Education& Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Experience with color measurement equipment a plus

  • Color management experience or certification a plus

  • Printing industry experience preferred

Required Skills:

  • Strong color management expertise

  • Understanding of color theory and management

  • Knowledge of printing processes and materials

  • Familiarity with quality control procedures

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles

  • Technical knowledge of ink formulation

  • Advanced computer proficiency

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Technical problem-solving

  • Data management and analysis

  • Project coordination

  • Team collaboration

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & TRAVEL:

Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

  • Visual acuity for detailed work

  • Color vision discrimination

  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, stoop and reach

  • Manual dexterity for machine operation

  • Ability to climb ladders safely

  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

WORK CONDITIONS:

The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:

  • Noise levels above 80 dB

  • Operation of complex machinery

  • Solvents, fumes and inks

  • Variable Temperatures

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts

  • May require nights, weekends, and holidays.

Internal Candidates:

  • Last performance review must have been "Performer" or better.

  • No disciplinary actions beyond a verbal within the past 120 days

  • Must have been in current position for at least 120 days
