Position Summary: U.A.W Local 113 represented position that provides skills to assist in the production of quality parts for various customer requirements. Starting hourly wage for this position is $35.51 and will increase to $36.08 after probation.
Essential Job Functions: Under guidance of the department supervisor, execute the following: Experienced CNC / Tool & Die machinist to work with Computer Numeric Controlled machinery capable of programming, performing setup, running and in process inspection of machined parts made from engineering drawings, using various types of metal. Independently work on shop floor CNC equipment. Must be able to use G/M codes to move the machine into position for any repair/fixture work. Attend to breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the machine with minimal downtime to aid production. Able to indicate and align fixtures, pallets as required. Evaluate each case to determine where and how each repair must be performed. Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management Repair and maintain fixtures, gages, and processes. Routine servicing and regrinding of tools. Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage. Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and performed proficiently. Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares to support production activity and customer deadlines. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance Carry out engineering level changes to tools and modifications Always maintain the highest standards of workmanship Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives Responsible for daily housekeeping, to include cleaning machines, tools, cabinets, sweeping of chips off floor and overall workplace organization. Undertake special projects as required Attend various meetings as required. Any and all other duties as assigned by Management Display positive and cooperative attitude to performing work assignments High School Diploma Must be a Journeyman Toolmaker with CNC Experience |
