Position Description

Support and supervise graduate students who are enrolled in Texas Tech University's Approved Course Sequence approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Develop or assist with program planning and implementation of behavior analytic skills in the school setting or outpatient clinic setting. Develop and maintain collaboration with school districts or other providers. This position will also provide supervision services related to instructional strategies and behavior management that meet requirements for supervised experience under Behavior Analysis Certification Board requirements. This position will report to faculty within the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research.

Major/Essential Functions


  • This position is for a Certified Behavior Analyst to work within the Burkhart Center Outpatient Services, providing direct services to individuals with autism, their families, and other professionals working with them.
  • Develop clinic-based outpatient and day-treatment programs for individuals with autism.
  • Develop in-home, school, and community consultation contracts with local clients.
  • Provide services related to instructional strategies and behavioral management.
  • Collaborate on research projects related to increasing the quality of life for people with autism.
  • Write reports for clinical cases.
  • Conduct indirect and direct observation assessments of children with learning and behavior problems.
  • Supervise direct-care workers and teachers providing direct instruction to individuals with ASD.
  • Provide Board Certified Behavior Analyst supervision to trainees accumulating applied supervision hours to sit for the BCBA exam.
  • Supervise TTU undergraduate and graduate students completing practicum experiences in the Outpatient Clinic in the Burkhart Center.

Required Qualifications

Board Certified Behavior Analyst or eligible to sit for the BCBA exam or equivalent/related professional credential (e.g. Social Worker, Counselor, Psychologist, etc). Master's degree in the field of Education. Three years of experience in developing and supervising a learning and behavior management program for individuals with autism.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in developing contracts with public schools and private pay facilities to provide BCBA services.
  • Experience in home and school-based ABA services for individuals with autism of all ages.
  • Experience with billing and working with insurance companies to provide funding for services.
  • Experience with university-based practicum settings.
  • Experience with Experimental Analysis of Behavior (EAB).
