HAZMAT Inventory Control Lead

Position Summary

The Office Services Lead is responsible for overseeing the inventory, maintenance, and organization of product closets while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This position supports a dynamic and fast-paced beauty industry environment, which includes body care, cosmetics, fragrances, hair care, and professional salon products. This role requires hands-on participation, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service. As a lead, you will perform daily operational tasks and provide guidance to team members to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.

This position supports operations across multiple segments of the beauty industry, including:



  • Consumer Beauty - Body care, color cosmetics, fragrances, and hair coloring and styling products.
  • Luxury Beauty - High-end cosmetics, fine fragrances, and premium skin care.
  • Professional Beauty - Products and tools designed specifically for beauty and nail salon professionals.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Stocking



  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of HAZMAT-related and general office supplies.
  • Order, receive, and restock materials including office supplies and copy paper.
  • Keep supply areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate records in tracking systems.


Customer Service & Communication



  • Deliver professional, courteous service to all internal and external clients.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and vendors.
  • Anticipate supply needs and proactively support various departments.
  • Foster a welcoming and service-oriented environment.


Mail & Materials Handling



  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries in compliance with HAZMAT safety standards.
  • Transport packages and supplies between departments in a timely and secure manner.
  • Prepare outbound shipments and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Identify and report suspicious or non-compliant packages per safety protocols.
  • Sort, label, and categorize items as required.


Team Support & Cross-Training



  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead team members by example.
  • Cross-train on related office services functions; provide coverage as needed.
  • Contribute to operational improvements and department initiatives.


General Duties



  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all inventory and supply activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all HAZMAT handling, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in office services, inventory management, or facilities support.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using technology for inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Capable of lifting up to [insert appropriate weight, e.g., 40 lbs].
