The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Training and Development Manager - Senior to provide support for our government customer in Orlando, Florida or remote.
Training system support consists of providing knowledge and expertise in the operation, employment, maintenance, or repair of systems, subsystems, or equipment related to military training systems.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and audits of training materials designed for training instructors
- Apply educational and training principles in review of training curriculum
- Validate training source materials
- Plan, direct, or coordinate the training and development activities and staff of an organization.
- Assure the technical and operational accuracy of the subject matter undergoing training product development.
- Support the Instructional Systems Analysts in identifying/validating training requirements.
- Support the Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychologist in developing human performance metrics.
- Develop target audience learning profiles.
- Provide technical expertise in developing straw man task lists to expedite the task analysis process.
- Guide the conduct of task analysis workshops.
- Support the Instructional Systems Analyst in determining the most appropriate courseware presentation and media for the subject matter.
- Provide consultation concerning the level of difficulty of assessment items.
- Develop POAM(s), research proposals, research designs and strategies, progress reports, and prepare final reports.
- Serve as advisor and consultant to various NAWCTSD Orlando acquisition functions and other Navy and DOD organizations on matters relating to instructional technologies and methodologies.
- Communicate with professionals in the field of military and industrial training and transfer the advances in instructional technology for collecting and evaluating data to assigned tasks.
- Provide guidance for meetings and conferences to coordinate research efforts and to provide an interface with other technical codes of NAWCTSD Orlando and other training activities and agencies.
- Shall produce and review courseware as part of computer-based, web-based, and distributed learning training.
- Use commercial software, including authoring and animation programs, to develop interactive courseware and computer assisted instructional materials.
- Implement logic described in flow charts and other design documents using the capabilities provided by the authoring system.
- Develop common authoring constructs such as branching, looping, counters, and answer evaluation.
- Use basic computer system concepts including directory structure, file naming conventions and backup/restoration operations in support of authoring system and web system design.
- Implement approved changes to existing courseware, using legacy software.
- Use appropriate industry and government standards and specifications in support of authoring system and web system design.
- Design and revise courseware for web presentation.
- Use web development tools, web-authoring tools, graphics design tools, and scripting languages in the design, creation, deployment and maintenance of web pages and web sites.
- Implement and maintain learning management system software for computer-based, web- based, and distributed learning training.
- Prepare the following Products/Documents/Reports: Products/ Documents/Reports, including Interactive Courseware, Animation, Desk-top Simulation, Computer Aided Instruction (CAI), Computer Based Training (CBT), Web-based Training, Computer Managed Instruction (CMI), Learning Management System (LMS) Inputs.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
PhD or master's degree in psychology
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Candidate must have approximately ten (10) or more years of experience with human cognition and performance studies.
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in the application of psychological principles and theories for the improvement of training, education, and human performance.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
