Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for an HR Manager to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The HR Manager is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes at the manufacturing facility. This role ensures HR initiatives align with business goals and regulatory compliance, while fostering a positive, safe, and high-performance culture. The HR Manager will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training, workforce planning, and HR compliance in a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment.

This is an on-site position.

Reports to: CHRO

The typical pay range for this role: $95,000 - $130,000

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

Talent Management & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with leadership to forecast staffing needs and align staffing with organizational objectives.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
  • Facilitate the intern and apprenticeship programs.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation programs and partner with managers to integrate new employees effectively.
  • Support succession planning and employee development initiatives.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with the company's values.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues.
  • Address concerns promptly, and if applicable, conduct investigations with professionalism and confidentiality to resolve conflicts.
  • Establish good working relationships with employees by spending quality time and being present to make communication more convenient.
  • Present HR and company updates at the monthly all employee meetings.
  • Partner with Management and other HR team members in organizing and administering employee events, recognition programs, etc.

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws (e.g., FDA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
  • Set up and maintain accurate HR records and participate in audits and inspections as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Administer, update and communicate HR policies, employee handbook, and procedures.

Performance & Compensation Management

  • Coordinate annual performance review processes and support goal-setting strategies and processes.
  • Support leaders in developing performance improvement plans and managing performance.
  • Assist with compensation planning and review internal equity and market competitiveness.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and oversee implementation of programs that support employee skill enhancement, professional development and compliance.
  • Support leadership development and continuous improvement initiatives.

HR Metrics & Systems

  • Utilize HRIS systems to maintain data integrity and provide analytics for decision-making.
  • Analyze various HR data, such as turnover trends, and propose a strategy to breach the gap between actual and desired organizational performance.
  • Monitor key HR metrics and generate reports and recommendations for leadership to improve results.

Staff Management

  • Manage and develop the Administrative Assistant at the front desk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree with emphasis in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience including at least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or FDA regulated environment.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize effectively; communicate with other departments, employees and customers in a professional and respectful manner; experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to influence and build trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources best practices and employment laws (local, state, and federal).
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Solid conflict resolution skills and excellent communication skills including ability to present information to large employee groups. Ability to form connections across the organization while working with employees, HR peers and managers in multiple locations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
