The Survey Worker interviews people to obtain information on topics such as public issues or consumer buying habits, contacts people at home business or by telephone following specified sampling procedures or approaches them at random on street. The Survey Worker asks questions relative to items on a form or questionnaire, records answers, assists persons in filling out forms, and may review, sort, classify and file forms according to specified procedures and criteria. This worker may participate in federal, state, or local census surveys (WDR 01420).

The Survey Worker processes Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs) from Dept. of Defense personnel
being transferred into and out of the United States according to International Auto Logistics' (IAL's) policies and procedures. Processing includes counseling/data verification-entry and assisting customers prior to and during processing.



  • Provide excellent customer service/counseling in a friendly, stress-free atmosphere to the
    customer, family members, and/or designated representative.
  • Process Service Member and authorized Government employee POV according to the Global Privately Owned Vehicle Contract (GPC), IAL policies and procedures for inbound/outbound and storage vehicle shipment orders within one hour or less of the customer signing in at the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).
  • Respond/Counsel customers via phone, email, or other correspondence.
  • Verify shipping orders, input Data entry into TRAX, and maintain records as required.
  • Perform all assigned duties in a timely and effective manner communicating with management and VPC surveyors.
  • Provide directions to destination VPC.
  • Inform the customer of claims procedures and provide the customer with a copy of the instructions for filing claims.
  • Recommend ways to downsize a POV exceeding 800 cubic feet. If the vehicle exceeds required size limitation, calculate the applicable excess charges, and prepare the necessary documentation for collections of overage charges.
  • Prepare alternate port costs and prepare the necessary documentation for collections of charges.
  • Ensure that the POV being shipped meets all the conditions or restrictions for the destination country as set forth in the Personal Property Consignment Instruction Guides (PPCIGs).
  • Ensure that owner or authorized agent presents personal Identification and /or Power of Attorney/letter of authorization, valid POV title, or registration with lien holder authorization
    for overseas shipment, and valid overseas Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders at time of turn-in.
  • Ensure that under no circumstances that a second POV be knowingly accepted under the GPC from a customer for overseas shipment.
  • Ensure that customer provides an accurate destination notification address for arrival notification purposes. Also, obtain the e-mail address for the customer and the name and phone number of his/her stateside point of contact.
  • Ensure that customer completes Customer Acknowledgement Form and IAL's Accessory and Condition Declaration form.
  • Scan and attach all necessary documents and pictures to each service member's file.
  • Fill out a key tag with pertinent customer information and attach all remotes and keys for all locks and ignition.
  • Prepare Vehicle Inspection Form (VIF).
  • Provide the customer with SDDC Comment Card.
  • Provide administrative services for POV storage for service members located outside the United States who are to begin an assignment to an area where they are not permitted to bring their POV or their vehicle would require extensive modification to conform to local requirements.
  • Obtain cost quotes and process vehicles under IAL's network for 2nd POV shipments
    outside of the GPC to overseas countries.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner during the entire customer service transportation process.
  • Responsible for fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and/or demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedures.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
