Job Summary

The Cardiology Procedures Technician II applies and analyzes holter monitors, event recorders and ambulatory blood pressure monitors. In addition, this role helps with analyzing and making parameter adjustments to pacemaker and defibrillator settings. This role frequently assists our pacemaker and arrhythmia services staff with scheduling patients and other miscellaneous tasks.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates ability to generate diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Acts as resource, fielding questions from medical staff about diagnostic testing.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle more difficult situations with objectivity.
  • Provides education for patients and families.
  • Assists other members of the staff maintain skills in performing diagnostic testing.
  • Schedules appointments in the computer per testing guidelines, and makes all attempts to meet the customers expectations.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in implementing and coordinating medical and nursing interventions as evidenced by observation and feedback.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and direct care in an emergency situation.
  • Coordinate care with the referring provider for issues specific to the service.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies

Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience - 2+ years cardiology and/or cardiac device experience

Preferred:

Education - Associates Degree

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
