We are looking for talented, Versatile, proactive, energetic, and passionate Data Engineers who embrace challenges and are proven problem solvers. As a Visa Software Engineer in Alternate Payments team, you will be a part of multiple teams tasked with projects ranging from building full stack development of REST Service APIs, Back-end Batching applications, and Web Front-End User Interfaces that are highly functional, secure, scalable, and robust. You will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. Job Description and Responsibilities

• Supports relationship with product owners to gather and refine requirements for one product task, adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions within a product.

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.

• Begins to develop and design architect solutions, considering integrations with other solutions.

• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.

• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.

• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.

• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology.

Essential Functions

• Partner closely with multi-functional teams to produce an application that flows seamlessly and works intuitively with our merchants.

• Come up with creative solutions to solve problems.

• Be comfortable in leading communication with non-technical teams.

• Work with architecture team on research & analyses of newer technologies for the next generation of Payment Services.

• Share knowledge with others and mentor junior team members to guide them in improving code quality

• Develops enhancements and modifications to existing software and develops extensible code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.

• Implements automation to improve effectiveness and efficiencies of systems and tools and supports development and implementation of new automation.

• Engages with product engineering teams and product owners during code/design reviews, regular meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.

• Leverages advanced knowledge of systems/platforms and telemetry analyses to propose isolated improvements in code, processes, and designs to more effectively deliver on customer/business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

*5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2

years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,

MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work

experience.

*Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science,

Information Systems or related field AND minimum three (3) years of

experience in a directly related field. OR

*Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science,

Information Systems or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience

in a directly related field. OR

*Minimum eight (8) years of directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

*6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years

of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

*Good understanding of Object-Oriented Concepts, Service Oriented

Architectures, Distributed Systems Design Concepts and Computer Science

fundamentals

*Knowledge of and ability to develop Full-stack Web Applications using Java,

Spring framework, React, JavaScript code in for product development. This

includes the extension of capabilities of packages and products.

*The ability to develop and utilize Application Program Interfaces (APIs),

RESTful API design, protocols, and tools for building software applications that

specify how software components should interact and are used when

programming graphical user interface (GUI) components. An API may be for a

web-based system, operating system, database system, computer hardware,

or software library.

*Knowledge of and the ability to use database software (e.g., applications, web-

based applications, information systems) to maintain, modify, and output data.

*Experience with HTML5, SASS/CSS, and JavaScript.

*Experience with modern JavaScript UI frameworks such as React, Redux,

Angular JS.

*Experience building responsive Single Page Applications that consume REST

services.

*Knowledge of systems integration process in which separately produced

components or subsystems are combined and problems in their interactions

are addressed.

*Knowledge of data structures, which consist of data organization,

management, and storage formats that enable efficient access and

modifications. This includes a collection of data values, the relationships

among them, and the functions or operations that can be applied to the data.

*Experience with Agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and

Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef,

Sonar, JUnit Ensure proper metrics instrumentation in software components,

to help facilitate real time and remote troubleshooting/performance

monitoring.

*Working experience with Kafka, Spark, and Hadoop is a plus. Working

experience in React and Vertx is a plus.

*Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON and exposure to container-based technologies.

*Knowledge of Unix/Linux and working in a shell environment.

*Knowledge of CICD - Jenkins Pipeline, Git, JIRA.

*Knowledge of Security - Authentication and Authorization.

*Should have very good understanding in GenAI adoption.

*Software design, development and systems integration.

*Design documentation.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
