Overview / Job Summary:
The Faculty, IT position is a full-time exempt role responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Information Technology courses. The faculty member will coordinate course planning, preparation, and evaluation while fostering a positive learning environment. The instructor is expected to participate in academic planning, serve on committees, and engage in professional development while embracing the mission and values of WSU Tech.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering effective instruction in IT subjects according to an approved course syllabus.
  • Creating, maintaining, and uploading course materials in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitoring and assessing student performance through exams, quizzes, and projects.
  • Advising and mentoring students in academic and career planning.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and improve IT course offerings and curriculum.
  • Participating in recruitment, retention, and community engagement activities.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+; Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP preferred.
  • Experience in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript) and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
  • Prior teaching experience or experience in adult education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to student engagement and support.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
