Summary

This position works with and supports our New Equipment Sales team, Project Management for New and Aftermarket Sales, as well as our service teams. New Equipment Sales project management is responsible for new generator projects from project creation to the final completion. Aftermarket Sales project management would work with our PSSRs and AES personnel to document a potential project through all phases. This documentation would utilize computer-aided design software to generate electrical and mechanical drawings for each phase of the projects. Flexibility must be demonstrated to work effectively with both business segments.

Essential Functions

  • Work with Product Support Sales Reps, AES Field Engineers and AES leadership to document specific projects and generate detailed electrical and mechanical drawings. Phases of the project would include design, quoting, submittal, implementation and final as-built drawings.
  • Work with New Equipment Sales, Operations Coordinator and other project managers to plan and manage a new Electric Power sales project. Projects start with the initial receipt of the purchase order and include review of specifications, submittal generation and approval, ordering and release of equipment, delivery, start-up, training and final documentation to customer.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gain access to information needed to complete and support the project.
  • Some after hours, weekend, on-call services may be required.
  • Maintains communication between all participants to ensure the proper information is provided to complete each step of the project.
  • Visit job sites to become familiar with equipment and what is needed for each specific project.
  • Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with outside vendors to provide information on needed materials.
  • Initiates and completes reports and other associated paperwork detailing communications with internal and external resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Preferably Five years' minimum industry experience and one to two years' experience in the Power Systems industry.
  • Excellent organizational, influence and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • An excellent knowledge of the industry and the product with the ability to discuss the technical aspects of generator and controls projects.
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to interpret policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, data base systems (DBS) and a basic ability to operate industry specific PC programs.
  • A working knowledge of computer-aided design software.

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office
  • Solidworks, AutoCAD, or Revit

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to understand how and why power generation systems operate as a complete system. Use this ability to orchestrate a project and present a complete working system to the customer.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
