Job Summary

The Industrial Designer I will support the design and development of future products by generating initial concepts, detailed sketches, and 3D models. This entry-level role focuses on learning and applying core design principles to bring innovative products to market.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, sourcing) to develop initial design concepts.

Produce detailed sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design ideas.

Assist in prototyping and testing of new product ideas.

Contribute to the design process by participating in brainstorming sessions and design reviews.

Conduct basic research on design trends, user needs, and competitive products.

Support the refinement of designs to meet performance, manufacturability, and cost targets.

Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field of study.

Basic understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Basic Modeling and Assembly in SolidWorks.

Proficient in 3D CAD and visualization software (e.g., SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, MS Office).

Strong sketching and rendering skills.

Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from senior team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic understanding of industrial design principles and ability to apply them in real-world design projects.

Strong visual communication skills - able to clearly present design concepts and ideas through sketches and renderings.

Willingness to learn and absorb feedback from senior designers and engineers.

Attention to detail in design execution and documentation.

Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to BBQ product design (e.g., sheet metal, injection molding).

Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Adaptability to changing project needs and priorities.

Physical Requirements

Standing, sitting, walking, talking, listening, use of hands, ability to reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally, ability to see objects up close or at a distance, using peripheral vision, and identify basic colors.
