The Position

We're hiring a Security Badging Coordinator for the Port of Portland at the Portland International Airport (PDX)! Your role: Responsible for authorizing and fingerprinting PDX Security Badge applicants, and for issuing and accounting for PDX Security Badges following federally mandated regulations and directives, including 49 CFR 1542, PDX Airport Security Program, and the Port of Portland statutes and PDX Rules. Provide security badging information to new applicants and existing badge holders over the phone, by email, and in person. Essential Job Duties
-
- Receive, capture, process and evaluate new and renewal airport security badge applicant information and identity documents utilizing a specialized Identity Management System (IDMS) program.
- Assist new and existing security badge customers in person, by phone, and by email. Schedule fingerprint and training appointments for new and renewal applicants.
- Maintain a general knowledge of all security rules and regulations and provide guidance to badge holders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve badge holder inquiries and problems, such as access issues and dead cards.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Education and Experience:
- Two (2) years post-secondary education and/or training.
- At least one (1) year working experience in an office environment, use of word processing, and spreadsheet applications; or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties.
- Experience in an aviation security environment is preferred.
- American Association of Airport Executives "Airport Certified Employee" (ACE) Trusted Agent certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass and maintain a Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment for a PDX Security Badge is required.
- Maintain a valid state drivers' license is preferred.

- Evaluate technical information.
- Learn and use specialized software programs.
- Learn to recognize and identify work eligibility documents, including fraudulent documents.
- Learn the training material for security and airfield driving topics.
- Proficiency inthe Microsoft Suite.
Working Conditions We offer a collaborative, in-person work environment to ensure new team members receive the support and training they need. As a new hire, you'll work on-site five days a week. Once fully trained, you may be eligible to work from home one day per week, depending on business needs. Compensation Our organization adheres to established salary ranges for each position to ensure equitable pay practices. However, final offers are determined based on various factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and considerations of internal pay equity.

- A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of July 14th, 2025.
- A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials.
