Job Description Summary

Job Description:

The Department of Art and the Department of Computer Science at Wake Forest University seek to appoint an adjunct instructor for the Spring 2026 to teach a course tentatively titled "Interaction Design: Art and Algorithm," which bridges the gap between visual arts and computer science. This course, cross-listed between the two departments, will combine principles of artistic design with computational thinking to create interactive digital experiences. Students will learn to develop user-centered designs while understanding the technical constraints and possibilities of digital interfaces. The course will integrate fine arts principles with computer science concepts. Student projects could range from interactive art installations to functional web applications, learning how aesthetic decisions impact user experience and how technical limitations influence artistic choices. MFA required.

Review of applications will begin on August 1, 2025.
