Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer / Systems Architect with extensive experience in Agile environments, system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and automation tools. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in both Linux and Windows environments, cloud operations, DevOps practices, system integration, and CI/CD pipeline development. This role requires the ability to work cross-functionally, support deployments, and continuously improve systems for performance, resiliency, and scalability.
The Level 3 Devops Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
- Source Control & Versioning
oFluency with Git, including best practices for branching and merging strategies
oDevelop and maintain CM systems and version control processes
- Operating Systems & System Administration
oStrong knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL 6/7/8, RHCS, RHCE, CentOS)
oExperience with Windows system administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and instrumentation
oMaintain, upgrade, and patch documentation using tools like Confluence and Jira
- DevOps & CI/CD Pipeline
oIntegrate Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployments
oSet up and configure continuous integration environments using CM, containers, and serverless technologies
oBuild and maintain release pipelines for safe, efficient software delivery
oAutomate deployments across development, testing, QA, and production environments
- Cloud Infrastructure & Virtualization
o10+ years of experience managing and monitoring AWS cloud and virtualized servers
oWork within Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments
oExperience with infrastructure automation using AWS, VMWare, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
System Architecture & Software Development
o10+ years in system architecture, including reading and understanding code logic
oStrong object-oriented programming skills in Ruby, Python, C, C++, Go, Java, or Perl
oExperience designing and maintaining web service infrastructure
oAbility to analyze large, complex systems to isolate and troubleshoot defects
- Catching, Databases, and Search
oExperience with caching technologies: Memcache, ActiveMQ, Redis, APC
oStrong knowledge of MySQL (clustering, replication, tuning)
oExperience with Elasticsearch and Kibana
- Agile & Team Collaboration
o10+ years in Agile software development environments (non-educational)
oServe as technical lead on Agile teams and participate in all ceremonies (planning, grooming, demos, retrospectives)
oWork effectively with developers, project managers, QA, support teams, and stakeholders
oAutomate infrastructure using scripting languages: Python, Ruby, Perl, Java
oProficient in automation and orchestration of network infrastructure using Software Defined Networking (SDN)
oUse tools like Puppet and Ansible to configure new sites and apps
- Monitoring, Performance & Reliability
oProficient with DevOps and SRE methodologies
oAnalyze service stack performance and recommend improvements
oUnderstand SLA requirements, high availability architectures, and performance optimization techniques
oKnowledge of security best practices, networking protocols, firewalls, PCI compliance, and maintaining confidentiality of processed information
- Communication & Documentation
oStrong problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
oClear and precise verbal and written communication
oCommunicate effectively across development and business teams to align goals and expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher is required in either Engineering (i. e. Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.) or Computer Science
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience (excludes education experience such as Bachelor' s or master's degree in relevant field)
- This TTO requires the candidates polygraph to be within 5 years.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Pay Range: 185,000-235,000
