What you'll do:

This API Platform Engineer role will be a member of the Integration Services team responsible for defining the direction and guidelines for API development for the bank. This position requires experience with middleware applications, including expert-level knowledge with Azure API Management and related Azure services, and experience in detailed requirements analysis, API or application design, testing, and deployment.

The successful candidate will have a record of success in leveraging the Azure API Management platform to provide business solutions while following best practices. The candidate will also be responsible for defining the appropriate methodologies and best practices for performing analysis and design in support of the Azure API Management platform's core organizational functions and business processes. This position will be part of an Azure API Management Center of Excellence in the IT organization as we look forward to transforming the way we do business.
  • Collaborate with test leads and test engineers to coordinate test automation efforts.
  • Configurations related to Azure API Management (API Gateway, Policy, SLAs, Load Balancer Configuration, Caching, Alerts etc.) experience is a must.
  • Assist others in defining application scope and objectives through research and fact finding, make system design and solution recommendations.
  • Assist in training of new users, and growing the Azure API Management skills set across the whole organization.
  • Participate and/or lead the coordination of Azure API Management releases.
  • Lead and coordinate with the Azure API Management releases as operators perform the release in production environment.
  • Complete regular internal system audits and document areas of concern.
  • Maintain security model consistency, ensuring minimal configuration to meet security needs.
  • Guide, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to less experienced Software Engineers and Administrators on the company's standard development practice and guidelines.
  • Create and maintain configuration workbooks, deployment plans, run books, and assist in the creation of training guides & process documentation for new functionality.
  • Provide technical teams with Azure API Management best practices, industry tips and tricks.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure API Management feature releases and provide recommendations to drive greater efficiencies across organizations.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years in design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of Azure APIs, Azure API Management and related Azure services.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred.
  • Experience building APIs with C# .NET.
  • Experience using Agile, Scrum and iterative development practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of defining, creating, building technology systems that lead to increased efficiency and productivity of the eco-systems.
  • Proficiency with developing according to API-led connectivity patterns.
  • Excellent analytical, communication (both verbal and written), facilitation/organizational skills.
  • Strategic, innovative thinking and vision.
  • Comfortable learning, using and explaining new technology.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Experience with large-scale Azure Eco-System.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
