Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Billing System Support Manager Supervisor, this experienced Applications Liaison professional and technical leader performs a variety of duties relating to the Revenue Cycle Information Systems applications. As a technical leader in clinical applications, applies advanced professional concepts and extensive industry knowledge to lead and / or work on medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity. Responsibilities include: Leading and assisting with process development, analysis, testing, implementation, and support of information systems for the organization; Project management, planning, development, testing, implementation, and evaluation of application functionality. Works with the team and key customers to ensure appropriate development, testing, training, and implementation of application functionality.

This position will be primarily responsible for Epic Resolute billing application as the technical leader for build, support, and maintenance. As a technical leader, may manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering polices, processes and resources. The leader functions with a high degree of autonomy.

The Resolute Billing liaison will assist the clinical departments and information technology partners (IT leadership, clinical chairs and department staff) to support the department's Revenue Cycle Information Systems applications. The Liaison will prioritize all incoming project work in alignment to the greatest financial impact to the organization. The liaison will partner with project teams and departments to prepare cash flow worksheets, requirements and project plans and will assist in the management of projects from design to deployment. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Required to pass Epic certification exam in two attempts within three months of last attended class or training session.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience implementing and supporting electronic medical record systems.
  • Experience with hospital revenue.
  • Experience working with clinical information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects and/or application development.
  • Experience working with interfaced/integrated multi-vendor applications.
  • Broadly encompassing or highly in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s) related to revenue cycle.
  • Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation supporting healthcare revenue cycle.
  • Knowledge of insurance claim processing and third-party reimbursement
  • Knowledge of quality tools and experience in business or clinical process improvement initiatives.
  • Participation in an implementation of an activity or strategy in a department, hospital or system environment.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical and revenue cycle users, and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
  • Skills or experience demonstrating advanced application of adult learning principles and system design standards.
  • Experience demonstrating knowledge of business operations and end-user requirements to improve or develop system design and training projects.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to react with flexibility and patience and maintain efficiency and accuracy under sustained and immediate pressure created by heavy workload, frequent interruptions and multiple requests.
  • Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Advanced written and verbal communications skills, to convey highly-technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical and revenue cycle users and staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
  • Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends.
  • Skills to learn assigned applications and meet proficiency testing requirements, and to maintain certification in assigned applications. * Proficient in office automation software (word processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation, etc.)

Department Overview

The Coding and CDI Department is a critical part of the healthcare organization, dedicated to improving patient care, supporting research, and facilitating education through the efficient management of medical records and clinical databases. The department, which consists of over 200 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) across diverse units, is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and compliance of patient information, which is crucial for clinical decision-making, billing accuracy, and regulatory adherence.

The department includes key groups such as Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity (IP/OP CDI), All Coding Operations, the CDI Coding Quality Analyst Group, the Coding and CDI Clinical Analyst Team, and the Provider Advocate Team. Each of these teams plays a specialized role in supporting the organization's health information needs. IP/OP CDI focuses on ensuring that clinical documentation accurately reflects the complexity and severity of patient care, contributing to appropriate coding, billing, and reimbursement. All of Coding Operations ensures that all patient records are coded accurately according to industry standards and regulatory requirements, supporting billing processes and ensuring compliance. The CDI Coding Quality Analyst Group is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of clinical documentation and coding processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The Coding and CDI Clinical Analyst Team focuses on the analysis and optimization of clinical data systems, ensuring that health information is easily accessible and accurate across the organization in collaboration with other department data analysts. The Provider Advocate Team collaborates directly with physicians and other clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation and smooth integration of clinical data into patient records.

Together, these teams ensure that the department not only supports day-to-day clinical operations but also plays a key role in broader strategic initiatives. The Coding and CDI Department ensures that data integrity is maintained, healthcare regulations are followed, and operational workflows are optimized to support patient care and organizational efficiency. Through this multidisciplinary approach, the Coding and CDI Department significantly contributes to the organization's mission of delivering high-quality healthcare.

Work Environment
