The Application Development Officer will contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by producing computer programs that contribute to the solution of business problems or needs of the Bank. The incumbent is considered to be an experienced programmer with advanced program design skills. The major emphasis of this position is to define and lead software development projects and mentor less experienced team members.
Qualifications: *Graduate from an IT Technical school or college degree with concentration in Information Technology required. Will accept professional work experience in lieu of education. *Minimum Five (5) years of experience in a programming environment required. *Clearly proven analytical and relevant programming skills in Mainframe, COBOL (JCL, CICS, VSAM, IDMS highly desired) *Experience using ENDEVOR for source control management is a plus *Ability to work independently to turn requirements into design documents *Ability to architect/design, code, unit test, and implement complex solutions to technical problems *Ability to document deployment and backout plans for code changes going into production *Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, peers, users and management. *Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. *Candidate must be able to work under pressure and have proven ability to meet deadlines. Principal Activities and Duties: *Codes complex COBOL programs, batch and online. *Prepares documentation. *Creates and maintains IBM JCL. *Writes COBOL code that accesses different file structures, including sequential files, VSAM and an IDMS database. *Implements program changes. *Tests programs for accuracy. *Communicates accurate task status to supervisor and peers. *Investigates and solves system problems, including off-hours calls. *Maintains working knowledge of the technological advances in the computer industry in general and Dollar Bank's computer environment specifically. *All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program. Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions. *Performs other duties as assigned. |
