Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Student Services Analyst for International Admissions to oversee the coordination of the International Education Program. This position serves as the primary contact for prospective international students, from the initial inquiry to enrollment, with a focus on students holding F-1 visa status. As a Principal Designated School Official (PDSO), the analyst ensures compliance with state, federal, and Department of Homeland Security regulations, maintaining updated records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), along with responsibility for recertification for SEVIS.

Responsibilities include coordinating international student orientation, assisting academic advisors and faculty to ensure students meet visa-related academic requirements, and managing international student insurance. Additionally, the analyst supports on-campus employment opportunities and collaborates with college staff to provide resources that enhance cultural adjustment and promote academic success, ensuring a well-rounded experience for international students.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

Essential Functions

25% - Institutional compliance with federal regulations

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the institution complies with federal regulations related to international students, including those set by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). Maintain institutional compliance with SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) policies and procedures.

SEVIS Management: As the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for the SEVIS system, this position will serve as the primary liaison between the school and the federal government via the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) platform. Oversee the issuance and maintenance of I-20 forms for F-1 Visa Students. Ensure timely and accurate SEVIS reporting of student status, changes in enrollment, address updates, and program information. Resolve complex issues related to international credentials, student visa eligibility, and regulatory compliance. Manage and update the school's I-17 for recertification when needed.

20% - Oversees the international admissions process

Admissions and Student Support: Review and make admissions decisions for international student applications. Review and evaluate international transfer credits. Provide guidance to international students on maintaining F-1 status, visa regulations, travel procedures, insurance and work authorization (e.g., CPT and OPT). Advise students on academic, immigration, and personal matters impacting their legal status or educational experience.

25% - Coordinates programs and support services that promote the academic and cultural success of international students.

Organizes events, orientation, workshops, and individualized support initiatives. Acts as a liaison between international students, faculty, and staff, offering guidance on international education matters, including faculty travel, advising, cultural programming, and community outreach. Builds partnerships to support international student transitions and serves as a resource for refugee, ESL, and visiting scholar populations. Coordinates orientation sessions, cultural events, and educational programming for the SCC Campus and collaborates with MCCCD sister colleges for district wide programming.

15% - Leads the International Education Program and provides supervision, training and strategic direction.

Directly and/or indirectly supervises staff, addresses challenges related to foreign credentials and visa classifications, and ensures effective program operations. Serves as a subject matter expert on international education practices. Represents the college on district-wide committees and professional councils. Provides training to other Designated School Officials (DSOs) to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery. Stays current with changes in immigration laws and regulations and disseminates relevant information to students and campus stakeholders.

15% - Records Maintenance, reporting, and recruitment collaboration.

Develops and manages outreach and marketing materials to support program visibility and recruitment efforts, while tracking and analyzing their effectiveness. Partners with marketing and outreach teams to develop and implement recruitment strategies, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. Oversees the collection and analysis of program data and reporting. Ensures proper documentation of student records in accordance with federal retention policies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in International Studies/Education, Higher Education, or related field.

Experience working with international students in higher education, including knowledge of The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), SEVIS, and compliance as a Designated School Official (DSO) or Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).

Experience in Admissions & Records/Enrollment services or similar functions within a college/university setting, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.

Proven ability to create, facilitate, and present to diverse student populations and staff.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise information and pay close attention to details, as demonstrated through the cover letter

Experience in data gathering, analysis, and applying logic to improve processes, as well as implementing and recommending policies and procedures.

Special Working Conditions

Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
Will be required to travel to other MCCCD locations.
May be required to work evenings and weekends.
May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.
At this time, Scottsdale Community College does not provide Visa Sponsorship.
This position is scheduled to start in September 2025.
