The purpose of the Router (DOT) is to guarantee customer satisfaction with the timely and accurate delivery of BEK products to customer locations. * The Router selects designated customer stops along routes and designs a systematic/sequential delivery window including but not limited to factors of geography, trailer capacity and road conditions utilizing RoadNet software * Ensures that routing-related data such as customer notes and DSR notes are all noted on designated routes for RSA. * Performs daily maintenance of route records in RoadNet including shuttles, team routes, city and rural routes. * Makes route adjustments as needed to provide maximum and efficient utilization of tractor/trailer combinations, route lengths, traffic patterns, fuel usage and DOT compliance. * Develop reports related to equipment utilization * Assigns drivers, trailers and tractors to designated routes daily * May cover a route and/or shuttle as needed for unexpected delays or driver issues. * May be required to relieve drivers who fall out of DOT compliance for hours of in-service. * Produce maps using map plotter, and run reports and queries * Follow BEK transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety guidelines. * Complete administrative tasks and related paperwork to guarantee the efficiency of transportation operations. * Manage route processes and functions in a Managerial Capacity when delegated by the absence of the Transportation Manager and/or Assistant Transportation Manager Job Qualifications: * At least 1 year of route driving experience required * Knowledge of DOT compliance required * Valid Class A or B CDL license required for the state in which you work * Basic math skills required * Ability to understand and enforce regulatory guidelines * Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards * Ability to use Microsoft Office and learn new applications/proprietary software * Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills with multiple levels of organization * Self-motivated * Innovative problem solver * Customer-focused * Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills * Detail-oriented; prioritization * Active listening skills * Independent thinking/decision-making skills * Commitment to Ben E. Keith company principles and standards * High school diploma or equivalent Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding. Ben E.
