Job Description

The Office of Human Resources provides leadership in the planning, integration, and implementation of human resource services and programs for faculty, staff, and retirees across all campuses and the health system. Collectively with our campus colleagues, we serve as a strategic and trusted advisor. Support a dynamic culture and workforce. Pursue continuous improvement through knowledge, collaboration and leadership.

As part of the Shared Administrative Services (SAS) Team, this position provides essential support to daily human resources transactional processing, serving over 50,000 active & separated employees, retirees, beneficiaries and dependents.

Responsibilities

20% Administration of Tuition Assistance program.
* Analyze tuition assistance applications, applying written policy to approve or deny requests.
* Serve as the primary administrator for the dedicated tuition assistance resource inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and effective resolution of issues. Escalating complex inquiries to Shared Administrative Services Manager for further guidance on resolution.
* Receive and resolve customer service inquiries related to tuition assistance through the internal ticketing system, providing clear and helpful information.
* Process additional pay taxation letters accurately and promptly, ensuring the payroll adjustment team receives all required taxation details for proper processing.
* Generate statistical reports and other ad-hoc reporting related to the tuition assistance program as requested by stakeholders.

20% Unemployment Claims
* Manage and respond to unemployment claim requests efficiently.
* Collaborate with internal departments to collect required information for unemployment claims.
* Escalate complex unemployment claims as necessary following established guidelines

15% Administration of Spending Accounts (HSA and FSA)
* Investigate and resolve Health Savings Account (HSA) over contributions, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and communicating necessary corrective actions to affected employees.
* Accurately process override adjustments for HSAs ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established procedures.
* Analyze and work the FSA discrepancy report, identifying and resolving discrepancies related to contributions and eligibility.

15% Process all benefit changes for employees on unpaid Leave of Absence (LOA) and Long-Term Disability Recipients
* Develop and deliver initial communication packages to employees on unpaid Leave of Absence (LOA) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Recipients, clearly explaining their benefits, payment responsibilities, and any necessary actions.
* Manage and update benefit enrollments for employees on LOA and LTD Recipients
* Coordinate with the Leave Administration Team regarding billing adjustments
* Serve as the primary point of contact for benefit-related questions for employees during their LOA and Long-Term Disability Recipients

15% Manage and execute key transactional tasks related to employee benefits.
* weekly updating of life and disability plan approvals based on vendor reporting
* complete process for removing over-aged dependents, including communication with affected individuals and accurate COBRA entry.
* Other transactional tasks and duties as assigned

10% Employee Benefit Inquiry Management
* Monitor and respond to employee benefit inquiries submitted through both the ticketing system and the Shared Administrative Services inbox.
* Deliver comprehensive and accurate information to address employee benefit inquiries.

5% Power of Attorney Process
* Organize and document incoming Power of Attorney requests.
* Correspond with Office of General Counsel to resolve outstanding questions, requests or forms associated with the POA.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.

Shift

M-F; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of human resources office experience demonstrating knowledge of basic employment laws, exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Excel spreadsheet skills with experience with v-lookup and pivot table is preferred, attention to detail, accuracy and ability to follow through independently. PeopleSoft experience is helpful.

Team player with interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Works autonomously and uses sound judgment.

Familiarity with university systems and human resources policies or equivalent.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $21.71 - $24.00/hour

Grade: GGS-009
