Embedded Software Triage Engineer

We are looking for a talented professional with a strong combination of technical understanding and system triaging skills in the field of embedded software development to join our Propulsion Software organization. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The right candidate is adept at troubleshooting module controller base software issues in foundation, communications and diagnostics and be proficient in Root Cause Analysis, black belt SWAT techniques, debugging embedded software and work effectively across organizations, interacting with teams, within and outside of Stellantis. In this role, you must have strong communication skills and able to communicate technical issues clearly to management levels and across teams. Ideally, you have a mechatronics background with a focus on embedded software development and have a do-what-it-takes attitude.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Issue Triage and Debugging: Work with teams to troubleshoot and root cause reported issues on vehicle, HIL, dyno at all phases of released software
  • Data Collection/Analysis: Assist in data collection and analysis of potential base software issues and identify ownership of the issue to the appropriate development team
  • Automation/Tools: Develop and maintain scripts for automated testing and create tool logging configurations for triage data collection and analysis
  • Software Analysis: Have general knowledge of AUTOSAR base software and software architecture in C/C++ to query and analyze software and interfaces
  • Product Knowledge Documentation: Build up a book of knowledge repository regarding module controllers, EE system topology architectures and artifacts related to triaging
  • Issue Updates: Participate in issue resolution meetings and provide the team with triage status

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related fields
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, including:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing automotive network/calibration data tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, XCP, etc.) to capture data
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded systems, C/C++ programming, and debugging tools


  • Proficiency in embedded systems, C/C++ programming, and debugging tools(Lauterbach)
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of automotive embedded systems, including hardware, software, vehicle network technologies
  • General knowledge of AUTOSAR and base software
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Passion for learning new technologies and solving problems
