We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Data Governance Lead - People Analytics to develop, lead, and maintain robust governance frameworks for our people and workforce data. This role will not only focus on standardizing metrics and calculations across the company, and ensuring the quality, security, and integrity of our people data but setting the guardrails of how we implement AI for HR both internally and to customers. You'll collaborate with HR, Legal, IT, and Data teams to align governance policies with business goals and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set the strategic vision and roadmap for both data governance to enable AI and BI applications (inclusive of measuring data quality and completeness).

  • Standardize key metrics and data definitions across all people domains

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders/data governance leads in other areas of Data Analytics Office (DAO) to align and share how and when to use people data

  • Develop and enforce security protocols to ensure we approach data governance by design

First 4-6 Month Deliverables:

  • Define key roles and responsibilities for all P0 datasets across HR and identify data stewards across people data

  • Audit all definitions and metrics across people (removing redundancies, etc) and publish a certified metrics calculation list with standard queries

  • Align on a singular reporting hierarchy and clear instructions on when to use which

REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related business discipline

  • 5-7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a similar role

  • Strong understanding of data management technologies, including HRIS (e.g., Workday, Ashby), data warehousing, data modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Sigma) and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a specialized area like HR Analytics, Data Science, or Business Analytics.

  • Familiarity and understanding of Snowflake RBAC/ security

  • Strong understanding of the HR landscape, including familiarity with HR processes, systems (e.g., Workday, Asbhy), and key people metrics.

  • Proven experience navigating complex data privacy laws and implementing controls to ensure compliance.

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and build consensus.

  • A strategic and problem-solving mindset, with a proven ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $153,000 - $213,600.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
