Hourly Pay Range:

$39.72 - $61.57 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Ultrasound Technologist Lead

  • Location: Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst IL

  • Full Time

  • Hours: M-F day shift, may be required to cover other shifts when needed. Lead technologist may be called at off hours if department or staff needs support.

A Brief Overview:
The Ultrasound Technologist Lead technologist oversees hospital campus along with offsite locations. Serves as a general resource for protocols/operational issues. Responsible for Ultrasound exams and teaching the most efficient way of producing quality images.Contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient. Acts as a role model by setting a positive tone that directly impacts customer service and employee morale.Intercedes on behalf of customer/employee to ensure a positive outcome. Also, performs all duties of an Ultrasound Technologist I as required.

What you will do:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the ultrasound technologist team, including assigning duties, monitoring workflow, and ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.

  • Perform and oversee a variety of advanced ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, vascular, obstetric, gynecologic, and other specialized examinations, demonstrating advanced technical skills and maintaining high-quality imaging.

  • Oversee the delivery of exceptional patient care by ensuring proper positioning, explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, and maintaining a comfortable and safe environment during examinations.

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of advanced ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.

  • Assist in optimizing image quality by providing guidance to technologists, adjusting imaging parameters, and ensuring accurate scanning techniques.

  • Implement and oversee quality control programs for ultrasound equipment and patient images to maintain the highest quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of patient information, procedure details, and image data according to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Ensure the safe use of ultrasound equipment and adherence to safety protocols, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.

  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to review and interpret images, provide input on patient care plans, and assist in clinical decision-making.

  • Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology, safety protocols, and clinical best practices through ongoing education and training

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate's Degree or higher, preferred

  • Experience: A minimum of one year of Ultrasound experience, demonstrated leadership skills, one year of vascular experience

  • Required Licenses/Certifications: ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) - currently registered as RDMS (OB and AB) ORARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) - currently registered as RT(S).

  • Currently registered with one of the following credentials, or must complete Vascular sonography certification within twenty-four months of start date into position: RVT, RT (VS), or RVS, (RVS by Cardiovascular Credentialing International)

  • Current CPR (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
