Job Overview:


This position will be remote and reporting to the Manager- State Tax. The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for the state income tax functions of Ingersoll Rand and other related entities, as detailed below. Responsibilities will include the preparation of income tax provisions and state compliance items. The role will have a state focus. However, assistance with federal income tax items will be required on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist with preparation of state income tax returns, both separate and combined

  • Assist with the tracking, reviewing, and resolution of state notices

  • Assist with state income tax provision process (quarterly and annually)

  • Assist with tax planning calculations

  • Assist with the design and implementation of process improvements

  • Assist as needed with M&A including integration into calculations and processes

  • Prepare/Review state fixed asset data

  • Prepare state reconciliations for state payable and other state specific accounts

  • Participate in the state estimated tax payment process

  • Interact and communicate effectively with various business personnel and business units to identify variables which will impact state income tax

  • Provide data collection and research support on state income tax audits

  • Support tax department with special projects



Requirements:


  • 3+ years of tax experience in a medium to large organization or CPA firm.

  • Master's Degree in Accounting desirable



Preferences:


  • Solid accounting skills.

  • Working knowledge of ASC 740.

  • Working knowledge of multistate apportionment methods and calculations.

  • Strong Excel skills needed.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Must be able to utilize technology to enhance efficiencies.

  • Experience with One Source-OTP and/or One Source-OIT compliance software is a strong plus.

  • Good analytical and research skills.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Strong achievement and results oriented focus to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Remote



Pay Range:


The pay range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
