Job Overview:
The Materials Planning Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Material Planners, and all materials project initiatives. In addition, this position is accountable for materials department labor, materials improvement productivity and Material Planner performance. Key performance indicators for this position are first pass service level on material, on-time shipping to promise date, and days past due on supply.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Materials Planning team and influence cross-functional teams to achieve outstanding performance outcomes in customer delivery and inventory optimization.
- Provide strategic direction for material planning processes, ensuring alignment with overall production and operation goals.
- Manage and lead the Materials Planning team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the utilization of the Costpoint MRP system, ensuring accurate and reliable output.
- Supervise the analysis and processing of purchase requisitions and the fulfillment of manufacturing orders across multiple projects.
- Monitor and execute project production schedules to meet the Master Production Schedule and contract delivery dates.
- Collaborate with Procurement team to ensure seamless communication and coordination between teams to resolve due date and shortage issues.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to define project timelines, supply chain objectives, and execution strategies.
- Oversee the proactive management of exceptions, such as material delays or changes, and facilitate communication to resolve issues.
- Act as escalation point to resolve or minimize risk to the production plan or contract date.
- Monitor and manage key operational and Supply Chain metrics, including MRP use, PO meeting manufacturing need-by date, manufacturing order, and master schedule attainment.
- Actively participate in the site's SIOP process, contributing expertise in material supply-related activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to materials planning with minimal oversight needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in Materials Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field.

In-depth knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.

Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large datasets.
