Salary Range: $66K to $72K*

Position Overview:
The Business Analyst for People Operations plays a critical role in supporting the People Operations department by analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to improve processes and strategies. This position helps ensure that the organization effectively manages its workforce to achieve its mission and goals. Hands-on experience with Workday is highly preferred.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering
- Conduct interviews, meetings, and workshops with People Operations team members and other stakeholders to understand and document business needs, goals, and challenges.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications that guide data reporting, dashboards, and HRIS processes.
Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Analyze current People Operations processes, such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to streamline and optimize processes.
- Propose data-driven improvements or automation solutions to strengthen operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the People Operations team, other internal departments, and technical partners.
- Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations based on HR data trends.
- Ensure stakeholders understand project goals, timelines, and deliverables, maintaining alignment through effective communication.
Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS)
- Use cases, user stories, and technical requirements for data projects
- Process flow diagrams for People Operations processes and reporting workflows
Solution Assessment and Validation:
- Evaluate whether reporting, dashboards, or process improvements meet defined business requirements.
- Participate in testing and validation activities, including data auditing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution accuracy and usability.
- Perform regular data audits to ensure integrity, completeness, and accuracy within Workday and related systems.
Project Support:
- Lead and support People Operations projects to ensure they are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
- Monitor project progress, develop work plans, and report on key metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop contingency plans and mitigate risks if project objectives are off track.
Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as turnover, recruitment, and performance.
- Curate complex reports by joining and cleansing data across disparate systems and presenting clear, concise insights to leadership.
Change Management:
- Support the rollout of new reporting tools, processes, or systems within People Operations.
- Provide training and guidance to HR staff on how to use data analysis tools effectively.
- Assist in managing organizational change to ensure adoption of new processes and maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Workday HRIS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience performing business analyst, HRIS, or similar duties
- Workday experience is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Jira, Asana, or other project tracking tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.
- Will frequently operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Occasionally, may ascend/descend a ladder to service office fixtures.
- Will communicate regularly over video calls with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
