Tyler Technologies is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the Enterprise Supervision team. This role combines the core strengths of project management with a deeper understanding of software development practices, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a technical background, and experience managing software development projects from initiation through delivery.

HYBRID WORK POLICY: The candidate is required to be in the Plano, TX office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of complex software development projects across multiple teams and disciplines within the Engineering organization.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership and Product Managers to facilitate project planning, prioritization, and capacity allocation, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed project plans, including resource plans, delivery schedules, risk management, and milestone tracking.
  • Own the process for status reporting, ensuring stakeholders have up-to-date visibility into progress, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
  • Drive project delivery excellence, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence across all development phases.
  • Champion the use of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to foster iterative delivery, transparency, and continuous improvement within engineering teams.
  • Anticipate potential issues, develop mitigation strategies, and work proactively with engineering leads to resolve blockers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication among Engineering, Product, QA, DevOps, and other relevant teams.
  • Foster strong working relationships and ensure consistent engagement with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure that teams are aligned on priorities and that execution follows a sustainable, transparent, and predictable path.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing technical software development projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize work, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts, architecture diagrams, and platform constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to engineers, product owners, and executives.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • PMP or Agile-related certifications (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP) are a plus.
  • Experience working with remote and distributed engineering teams is preferred.
