Job Summary

Under the supervision of the UCSF Fresno Office of Health Career Pathways (OHCP) College Pathway Supervisor,
the Program Liaison will perform tasks related to maintaining program databases, analyzing data outcomes
related to UCSF Fresno's educational pathway programs, assist with the learner outreach, and reporting for
funding deliverables related to the Cal Wellness Foundation Grant, California Medicine Scholars Grant and other
OHCP health pathway programming. The Program Liaison will work alongside program staff to perform analysis,
visualization, and distribution of program data to aid with strategic planning and decision-making regarding
programming for Doctors Academy (DA) alumni and SJV-MedBridge students. Additionally, they will oversee the
outreach and recruitment of applicants to the Doctors Academy Alumni Development Fund project that targets
alumni preparing to pursue a career in medicine. This position will also provide additional support for OHCP
programming endeavors and be integral in decision making for future offerings and programming for learners
through the assigned role. At this time, funding is only available for this role through June 2026.

Please note that the final pay range will be between the entry and mid-level range, based on the current department's budget

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Please note that the final pay range will be between the entry and mid-level range, based on the current department's budget. This role is a part-time role (0.75 FTE) at approximately 30 hours per week.

Department Description

UCSF Fresno is a regional campus of UCSF School of Medicine located in California's Central Valley and the
Department of Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) is the administrative unit that oversees the Office of
Health Career Pathways (OHCP). The OHCP was established to provide programs and services that lead to
student academic success and exploration of research and health careers, as well as better coordinate and
increase the success of existing health pathway programs at UCSF Fresno. UME provides services for 100 or
more third year students from UCSF as well as 300 or more visiting 4th year medical students for clerkship
rotations. UCSF Fresno has several accredited Residency & Fellowship programs under the auspices of Graduate
Medical Education. The UCSF Fresno UME Office is responsible for implementation of all strategic directives for
medical education at the Fresno campus and for ensuring that those who serve undergraduate student learners
are actively engaged in the highest quality learning and teaching environment with a strong commitment to
diversity and UCSF's PRIDE values.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Experience working with learners
  • Knowledge of data collection, research and analysis techniques
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Google Suites and databases
  • Understanding of rural and urban populations, first generation college student experiences, and underserved communities to create rapport and working relationships with learners, while also providing insight to realistic expectations
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Includes ability to work with extremely complex schedules which requires a well organized and detail oriented precision
  • Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel to designated sites

Preferred Qualifications


  • Requires solid verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
  • Ability to maintain good rapport and relationships with contracted district personnel and community organizations
  • Ideally an individual currently in the process of applying to medical school and has familiarity with the application process or willing to learn
