Job Description:

We're seeking a Benefits & Leave Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for supporting employee benefits and leave programs across the U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle sensitive information with professionalism.

What You'll Do

Benefits Coordination

  • Assist with administering benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.

  • Process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations through HRIS and benefits platforms.

  • Manage the Benefits Inbox and respond to employee questions regarding eligibility, options, and claims.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of benefit vendor invoices.

  • Support benefits-related audits, reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Assist with open enrollment activities such as data entry, communications, and logistics.

  • Maintain benefits documentation and conduct new hire benefit orientations.

  • Participate in the company's Wellness Innovator Committee.

Leave Coordination

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employees requesting a leave of absence.

  • Manage required documentation and track leave usage in accordance with FMLA, ADA, and company policies.

  • Coordinate with third-party disability administrators and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth processing.

  • Keep managers informed of leave status and return-to-work timelines.

  • Handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Provide back-up support to the Benefits and Leave Administrator as needed.

Administrative & Compliance Support

  • Maintain accurate records and files related to benefits and leave.

  • Generate reports and support internal audits and compliance needs.

  • Assist with COBRA notifications, ACA reporting, and updates to leave regulations.

  • Coordinate the Tuition Reimbursement Program.

  • Support other HR projects and tasks as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in HR support, benefits administration, or leave coordination.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday is strongly preferred, especially the benefits module.

  • Knowledge of HR regulations related to benefits, leave, and compliance.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable working independently and escalating when appropriate.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
