The supervisor will oversee all aspects of production and warehouse areas. This position requires a proactive, hands-on leader, one with a Continuous Improvement mindset and the ability to drive performance across multiple disciplines within a warehouse environment. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, manage, direct, and lead the assembly and distribution initiatives to achieve pre-established goals relative to the organization's KPIs such as Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Accountable for managing overall and individual/cell level production and warehouse efficiency to ensure daily prioritized production schedules, quality, and timely delivery of products, taking into consideration short term/long term production requirements.
  • Establish production and quality control standards, budgets, and cost efficiency metrics in collaboration with management.
  • Ensures that standardized work procedures, SOPs/Work instructions are followed properly to improve efficiency of warehouse and assembly operations.
  • Selects, trains, and directs employees according to standard Watts Water practices, offering coaching/mentoring or corrective action when appropriate.
  • Fully responsible for ensuring that any disciplinary actions issued due to attendance, performance, or any other non-compliance reason to the pre-established policies and procedures are well documented.
  • Tracks, maintains and looks for ways to improve key performance measures throughout the production environment.
  • Maintains tier daily management visual boards to effectively control production, resolve problems, and communicate results.
  • Procures feedback and establishes frequent communication with customers to understand needs and concerns.
  • Ensures labor and machine capacities to accomplish production schedules and meet efficiency goals.
  • Leads the effort in safety compliance, improvement and promoting awareness in accordance with company safety requirements and guidelines.
  • Responds to line down issues and provides leadership to root cause analysis and corrective action plan execution.
  • Work with production scheduler to ensure all productivity metrics such as OTIF (On-Time-in-Full) and past dues are performing at or better than pre-established targets.
  • Works with the quality department to keep scrap under control.
  • Hold staff accountable to company policies and procedures, managing documentation for attendance and disciplinary issues.
  • Responsible for cross training the staff so direct reports are interchangeable in each assembly/warehouse area.
  • Works with management to implement/develop a Lean Manufacturing system in all production and warehouse areas including but not limited to, 5S, Standard Work, Tier Daily Management, Error Proofing, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5+ years in a managerial role in manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory control setting.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting shop drawings, technical publications, and technical procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, including coaching and team facilitation.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure/training manuals.
  • Familiarity with mathematical concepts like probability, statistics, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Capacity to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Very proficient with Microsoft Office package

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:

  • Experience supervising 25+ direct reports.
  • Ensure company policies are followed.
  • Enforce company safety policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk for prolonged amounts of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to find, handle, or feel. The employee will also be lifting to 50 pounds periodically. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work in a manufacturing/warehouse office environment.
  • Will also be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
