Responsibilities
About Temecula Valley Hospital Central Sterile/Supply Technician The Central Sterile/Supply Technician will accurately perform quality control checks on instruments and equipment as well as ensure the sterilization of the instruments and equipment is up to standard. Essential Job Duties: The Technician is responsible for making rounds to assure equipment is properly charged for usage. Accurately maintains all sterile or clean supplies and issues same to nursing units on request. The Technician should also understand and be able to demonstrate the difference in flashing techniques. They must possess the ability to accurately decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and trays for sterilizations along with assembling a wide variety of instrument sets along with keeping log of missing instruments and signing the instrument set list according to protocol, as assigned. In addition, the Technician will utilize/refer to surgeon preference cards when setting up trays and must demonstrate the ability to pull cases and prioritize instrumentation needs based on the surgery schedule.
