Deer Valley Resort is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, in the historic mining town of Park City which has evolved into an exciting and diverse mountain ski town. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Train staff in area of specialty. The specialty may be children, process & program training, staff development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Training Manager beginning early November (may vary to later November) on regular schedule to contribute to training calendar and new staff training planning and implementation
  • Scheduled 5 days per week with exceptions for DECL travel or National Team travel
  • Schedule a minimum of 2 days per week to train staff at Request pay rate (may be exceptions during high business level periods)
  • Take regular lesson clients on schedule when not scheduled on training
  • Be available for Last Chair one to two days per week
  • Be willing to add training sessions at training manager request
  • Be available to schedule days of shadowing or reverse shadowing for programs when bookings allow


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of experience in ski teaching required
  • Must be current Deer Valley Trainer or current Regional or National PSIA Educational Staff member (non-current regional Ed Staff people must be approved by Training Manager)
  • Expertise in a specialized area, i.e. children or staff development
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Detail oriented and proactive; team oriented
  • Must be flexible and coachable
  • Willing to work any day(s) of a given week, including weekends and holidays, some later afternoons or evenings.; hours may fluctuate with Ski School business and need.

  • Interact with members of Skier Services peer group, instructors, agents and supervisors in a positive and professional manner
  • Interact positively with other Deer Valley Resort employees
  • Communicate any suggestions or concerns to manager in a timely manner
  • Speak and act professionally while on duty
  • Support and follow Deer Valley Resort policies and procedures and DV Employee Handbook guidelines
  • Be a good example to those around you with a positive, supportive attitude


PAY RATE:
  • $30 - 40+ per hour, dependent on experience


DATES OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Early November - Mid April
