Description
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support departmental operations through data-driven insights and systems development. In this role, you will collect, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic decision-making across multiple divisions. You will also design and maintain databases and applications used for operational analysis and reporting, and contribute to projects and publications that drive innovation and efficiency. Key Duties: * Analyze data to support strategic planning related to clinical and research missions and department operations. * Design, develop, test, and maintain databases and reporting tools for internal use. * Document database processes and ensure consistent data integrity and accuracy. * Assist with data compilation for departmental publications and research-related projects. * Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in various departments and units. Salary Range: $36.49/hour - $76.05/hour Qualifications
* Must have at least two years of relevant experience (e.g. designing and maintaining relational databases using MySQL, SQL, Oracle; performing data extraction and analysis for reporting or decision support; utilizing tools such as Excel, Access, R, Python, or Tableau for data analysis and visualization) * Demonstrated experience using database query and reporting tools, including proficiency in MySQL and/or Oracle database management, as well as SQL script development. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. * Knowledge of system administration and database maintenance in mixed computing environments. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and timelines effectively. * Analytical thinking with the ability to identify issues, trends, and solutions. * Proven experience in preparing clear, insightful data reports. * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Must be able to report to work on-site (Westwood, Los Angeles) for a minimum of 3 days/week during first six months of hire. * Experience in an academic healthcare setting - preferred |
