Our Georgia-Pacific, OSB plant located in Fordyce, AR is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Trainee. The E&I Trainee collaborates with experienced team members to develop a higher skill level to resolve electrical and instrumentation issues, recommend alternative repairs and equipment upgrades, identifying quality concerns and understanding the production threshold of the equipment.

What You Will Do

  • As a trainee, you will continuously develop your knowledge of the role to meet established benchmarks as outlined in the training program and/or trainer.
  • Collaborate with operating technicians, mechanics, engineers, and other team members to improve reliability and performance of mill equipment.
  • Install equipment at the component level while adhering to all state and plant codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals and manufacturers specifications. Equipment includes but is not limited to: motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems and production machines.
  • Respond to plant electrical and maintenance issues.
  • Training and continuous development of knowledge in the use of PLC programming and software.
  • Help meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participate in safety program.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • One (1) year or more of experience working in a mechanical maintenance position within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
  • Two (2) year technical degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance Technology or similar program
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
