Compensation:$22.75 - $22.75/hour

This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.

Join our dynamic team as a Lab Tech Sr-Seasonal and play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality control, winemaking, and research at our esteemed winery. In this seasonal position, you will perform a wide array of chemical analyses on alcoholic beverages, grapes, grape products, water, and other related materials. Your work will be crucial in evaluating products and processes, facilitating the production of exceptional winery products under minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include supporting grape and wine analysis and preparation tasks, such as sampling, grape processing, and sample preparation. You will work with a team operating machinery to process grape samples. You will conduct a variety of analyses using sophisticated analytical instruments such as gas chromatography mass spectrometry, infrared analyzers, high performance liquid chromatography, and spectrophotometers. Your attention to detail will be essential in evaluating laboratory quality control data, initiating corrective actions when needed, and ensuring data traceability through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

As a seasoned lab technician, you will be responsible for instrument calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting, contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices. You will support method development activities, engage in the on-boarding and training of new lab personnel, and provide guidance in the absence of lab supervisors. Your commitment to quality and customer service, as outlined in our ISO 17025-compliant quality management system, will drive your independent work ethic.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree with a combined 20 college coursework units of chemistry, biology, and/or microbiology plus 2 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience OR 2 Harvest Seasons at GALLO; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years or 6 seasons of paid laboratory experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibilities; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 20 college coursework units of chemistry, biology, and/or microbiology plus 4 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience OR 4 Harvest Seasons at GALLO.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime when necessary; required to work weekends when necessary
• Required to be at least 21 years of age.
• Required to lift and carry cases of product that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
