Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the fiscal integrity of the Department of Athletics.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing financial planning and accounting, financial policy and procedures including annual budget development, oversight and variance reporting, monthly forecasting, capital budgeting, post-award budget management, payroll and salary management, NCAA reporting and EADA reports management for the Athletic Department.
  • Serves as a member of the Athletic Department administrative team. Prepares financial reports designed to effectively inform Athletics operational and strategic decisions. Develops and adheres to annual fiscal calendar noting deadlines for completing key financial reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Serves as the key financial liaison for the Athletic Department within the University. Representing the Department of Athletics with internal and external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Assists with financial review of Athletics contracts, agreements and memorandums of understanding. Provides fiscal oversight of facilities rentals, associated revenues and expenditures, assisting with monitoring institutional protocols and contractual requirements in compliance with established guidelines and/or policies.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of a financial plan to ensure fiscal solvency and ongoing financial success for the Athletic Department.
  • Performs other duties and projects as required by the Athletic Director and Deputy AD.


Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • A minimum of two years working in a professional setting in Accounting or Finance, with working knowledge and experience in a collegiate athletic department and familiarity with financial procedures with LUC accounting systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a professional work setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail and accuracy required; strong communication skills; strong organizational skills.
