Specialty Pharmacist

Job Summary:

The Specialty Pharmacist services the needs of the UVMMC Specialty Pharmacy patients. The pharmacist will work in the Specialty Pharmacy. The pharmacist will work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve medication related problems. The pharmacist will also dispense medication according to prescription orders while screening and resolving medication related problems, financial barriers, and counseling patients and health care professionals on proper use of medications. The pharmacist will maintain good business practices and sound clinical judgement to ensure the success of the department and patient outcomes.The pharmacist will be responsible for triaging and answering questions related to specialty pharmacy prescription fills and prior authorizations.

Education:
PharmD or B.S Pharmacy Degree from ACPE accredited college of pharmacy.
Licensed pharmacist in Vermont.

Experience:
Minimum one year experience in a retail/mail/call center/specialty/home infusion pharmacy within past 5 years.
Minimum one year experience in a health system pharmacy preferred.
