THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in various tasks related to the upkeep, operation, and safeguarding of facilities, roads, trails, lands, and other infrastructure within the Weiser Forest District. This will require the application of skills and tools from carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and other construction trades. Your duties will encompass performing maintenance and repairs on public buildings and equipment at a sub-journey level, either independently or by supporting skilled workers with routine tasks. Furthermore, you will contribute to wildland fire suppression efforts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal full-time employment without benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
- This position may require overtime and travel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
