JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA is seeking an Assistant Research Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct theoretical research in glass science, including modeling and simulations of glassy and glass-ceramic materials.

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or a related field. The applicant should preferably have industrial or post-doctoral research experience beyond Ph.D. training. Experience with molecular dynamics simulations, density functional theory, machine learning, computational thermodynamics, and structural/microstructural analysis of glass and glass-ceramics are also preferred.
