Your role and responsibilities

IS SAP & Infrastructure Engineer plays a critical role in managing both the technical infrastructure and the SAP system landscape. This role requires a blend of SAP system proficiency, infrastructure knowledge, and management skills. Your role involves working with the Source Systems team to leverage your skills in integrating and overseeing global source systems, such as ERP (SAP ECC, S4HANA) and various non-ERP data sources, ensuring the robustness and reliability of ABB's data ecosystem. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing new data source integrations, ensuring seamless onboarding, thorough testing, and adherence to defined data integration procedures and standards. You will be responsible for optimizing infrastructure to maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations, directly contributing to ABB's data-driven initiatives.
The SAP & Infra Support Manager requires effective collaboration and communication skills, as you will provide regular updates to technical stakeholders on integration performance, infrastructure improvements, and data quality. Familiarity with SAP ECC, S4HANA, and infrastructure optimization for global data systems is essential.

This role is contributing to the Core IS Services.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Maintaining close relationships with source system technical teams, ensuring the data extraction from all sources to A3 data platform is going smooth.
*Identifying if there are any maintenance or actions taken or going to take at the sources (ERP or Non-ERP) that are going to impact the data extraction process and take necessary actions by reaching out to source teams, understanding the impact, involve in testing and perform the impact analysis.
*Running the weekly & monthly governance meetings with Source teams.
*Providing cost estimates and implementation for setting up the necessary Cloud or On-premises infrastructure and identifying the root cause for long pending or repetitive issues in the data extraction pipelines in co-ordination with technical teams responsible.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Engineering, or a related field, Certifications in SAP (ECC, HANA) and cloud infrastructure (Azure) are required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience working with SAP technologies and infrastructure support, with at least 2-3 years of experience working with technical stakeholders, previous experience with SAP systems is a requisite.
  • Proficiency in integrating both ERP and non-ERP source systems (such as SAP ECC, HANA, Workday, Salesforce, and others) and functional understanding of SAP Basis and SOLMAN
  • Knowledge of server architectures (physical and virtual), storage management, network configurations, and load balancing and understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., SAP functional consultants, developers, network administrators, etc.) to ensure the completion of SAP projects.
  • Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with source system owners, manage expectations, and ensure KPI alignment and technical requirements are met.
  • Highly motivated and resourceful, adept at managing global integrations while promoting a culture focused on continuous development in data processes. Fluent spoken and written English is essential.
