Position Summary:

N3B is seeking a Compliance Auditor to join N3B. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking detail-oriented individual with an ability to interact well with external auditors, senior managers and other personnel throughout the company on programmatic issues. The compliance auditor is charged with providing independent and objective evaluations of the company's financial and operational business activities, including its corporate governance, as well as serving as the liaison for external audits to include annual incurred cost audit, 401K plan audits, Union pension audits, etc.

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer/Business Services Program Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • The Compliance Auditor will provide evaluations of corporate governance, operational efficiencies and will facilitate and interface with external auditors
  • Evaluate internal processes and prepare risk assessments.
  • Create and execute internal audit plans.
  • Obtain and evaluate internal accounting and operational documentation.
  • Develop recommendations and formulate cost saving actions.
  • Prepare and present reports regarding findings.
  • Conduct follow-up audits.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all external audits and manage audit schedules.
  • Compile information as required for external auditors, working with the accounting and payroll teams to meet audit requirements.
  • Must have excellent report-writing skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the examination and evaluation of company processes, reporting findings back to management on possible process improvements and adjustments to potential weakness.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines and develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with extensive latitude for independent judgment
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to perform critical strategic tasks and to interpret broad strategic and technical requirements and develop and execute plans to satisfy them
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (e.g., ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, work/interact effectively and amicably with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and with diverse personal attributes).
  • Effective communication skills (i.e., ability to present ideas effectively in formal and informal situations and convey thoughts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing).

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline combined with 15 years of related experience, Federal government contracting experience is strongly preferred

Certification such as Master of Business Administration, Certified Public Accountant, or Certified Internal Auditor is desired, but not required.

Business Associations:

Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relation to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.

Impact:

Decisions affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment. Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline. Office work environment

While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, the Internal Auditor will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner to include protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This role will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Ability to obtain an L level Department of Energy security clearance.
