JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Agricultural Sciences Office of Finance and Business is hiring a Business Intelligence Specialist. The Business Intelligence Specialist will assist the Senior Supervisor with the analysis, design, develop, implementation and maintenance of county/college-wide administrative applications, relational databases, web applications, and data lake/repository for financial, research, student and other pertinent data. To include the administration, design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of complex database structures of critical business value with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security within FileMaker, SQL Server, Power BI and other related systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Senior Supervisor in facilitating the acquisition of university, college, and county level data for consumption into our data lake/repository. Develop and implement complex administrative, automation, and data integration scripts; display advanced knowledge of set-based, shell, and scripting languages. Create database maintenance procedures and backup/restore methods to protect the enterprise data; create innovative strategies and best practices to replicate the data to provide high availability. Contribute to strategic decision-making and long-term planning.

  • Assist in the design, develop, implement, and support the creation and use of automated dashboards, analyses, reports, and other means as identified in support of the college mission in coordination with the Reporting and Data Management Team lead. Leading and/or mentor other team members.

  • Assist in overseeing and maintaining On-Premises Gateway, SQL, and FileMaker servers. Assist in providing database development and support for confidential database systems.

  • Develop functional knowledge of current systems, policies and practices through mentorship, professional development, and hands on learning. Role involves solving complex and varied problems with innovative approaches.

  • Exhibit clear, accurate, and persuasive communication, both verbally and in writing, especially when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Additional data management tasks as identified by the Director and team lead.

This position will work fully remote.

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirements for this position include a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
